N.Y. Love

Stella and Zoey come from a long line of New Yorkers. My grandfather started out life in Hell's Kitchen pushing a grocery cart through the streets and my grandmother grew up in the Bronx, the daughter of a butcher and an amazing cookie maker. Chris' grandfather may have had some connection to the Manhattan Project. And Chris himself almost came into this world in a yellowcab as his mother was rushed from Washington Square park to the hospital in labor.

Equally deeply rooted in our collective family lineage is a total lack of appreciation for football.

(The only time I ever watched the Superbowl was in advertising school, and the only rule during those games was to talk during the game, not the ads.)

Still, we dedicated our morning dance to the Giants and all the happy New Yorkers out there, (including you, Mommom.)

We might have been the only house in Montana playing Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' "Empire State of Mind" at 7:30 this morning, but we played it loud.
