A love letter from Michael Jackson

Yesterday, we unearthed a Michael Jackson CD, and Zoey just could not get enough of "Billie Jean". The only way I could pry her out of the car when we arrived at school was to promise a deep dive into the Michael Jackson YouTube channel after dinner.

Oh, and it was good stuff —  'P.Y.T.', 'The girl is mine', and all the rest. We danced our way through the night, until we landed on 'We are the World.'

Wow. I completely teared up.

Neverland and hyberbaric chambers and skin bleaching (and other nastier scandals) eclipsed the powerful message that Michael Jackson had for the world. What a treat to rediscover, and to get to share with Stella and Zoey. It's amazing what a person, doing exactly what they're put here to do, can accomplish, even in the face of some very eccentric and disenchanting habits.

We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So lets start giving.
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
Its true we'll make a better day
Just you and me.
