Poppy

When we first moved here, we bought a bed for Stella at a neighbor's garage sale. We drove to their house but later realized that it was really just right behind ours, across the park.

Over time, we've gotten to know these neighborhood bed-purveyors and have come to realize that they are some pretty special people. So on Saturday night, we invited them over to celebrate the Equinox, and Poppy.

Poppy is the latest addition to our family — a very small, insatiably-hungry, red-winged fairy who's quite a prolific writer. She happens to be friends with Brownie, the fairy who lives with the little girl whose bed Stella now sleeps in.

Stella and Zoey made a special fairy--friendly lair to lure Poppy in:

And they wrote her lots of notes, which they stuffed into the letter jar:

Poppy wrote them back, and requested a cozy bed. She also scored a disco pillow:

"Dear Poppy, my name is Stella. Will you draw a picture of yourself?" (ps - will you use more neat handwriting?)

Sure thing (at least on the picture front):

"Dear Poppy, have you seen a rainbow?"

Yes! And much more:

Dear Stella and Zoey, You're righteous little monkeys. Love, uhhh... Poppy Mama
