Stella and Zoey's cousins, Sam and Julia, arrived last Monday for a week of mountain adventuring.
In between trips to the pool and Yellowstone, and firecrackers on the 4th of July, we went on a little hike out the back door to visit Cannonball Blue, our neighboring horse.
The grass in the field is so tall that I could barely see Zoey and Julia at times.
The kids made little bear beds for themselves.
And then we climbed the fence to Cannonball's pasture and attempted to lure him to us with carrots.
It took a lot of patience and some singing, and then, just as we were about to give up, he came.
We celebrated our successful horse whispering with a trip to the pool and some much-anticipated banana splits.
