The police blotter

My previous post was inspired, in part, by my discovery of the Bozeman police blotter, which humors me endlessly. And not only because I'm a city girl.

Check out some of last week's highlights:
    •    Someone was pounding on a woman's apartment door at 4:07 a.m. She told dispatch someone was howling outside her window the night before.
    •    When a Golden Rod Lane man told his neighbor to stop shoveling his sidewalk, the neighbor began swearing at him.
    •    A 25-year-old man accidentally shot his hand in a North 17th Avenue apartment.
    •    A Buffaloberry Lane woman came to the Law and Justice Center to discuss suspicious mail.
    •    A skier was stuck halfway down the Bighorn Run at Big Sky Resort. The snow was too thick, the skier told dispatch.
    •    A caller on Springhill Road suspected a neighbor had stolen firewood after finding shoe prints in the snow and 10 pieces of wood missing. Deputies spoke with the neighbor and determined they had in fact stolen the wood. The neighbor said they would return the wood.
    •    At 9 p.m. a West Yellowstone bartender had to confiscate a bottle of vodka that a belligerent customer had carried into the bar.
    •    Two scruffy-looking men went to a Tumbleweed Drive house and told the woman resident that horses were out. She told them she doesn’t own any horses.
    •    A candle caught a West Olive Street man’s bag of popcorn on fire at 1:08 a.m.
    •    A “very wounded black bear” crossed East Kagy Boulevard and stopped on the north side of the road.

If you just can't get enough, you can order a copy of We don't make this stuff up, the best of the Bozeman Chronicle police reports, here.
